Curriculum

The Purpose and Aims of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child's experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. The EYFS is mandatory for all schools and early years providers in Ofsted registered settings attended by young children - that is children from birth to the end of the academic year in which the child has their fifth birthday. If your child begins their learning journey with us building blocks will be laid and the foundations will be completed in their fist year at school. We work closely with both the local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition for all our children. If you are at all unsure then please don't hesitate to ask us!

The four colour coded themes of the EYFS are shown below. Each theme has four principles, which are supported by four commitments, which describe how the principle can be put into practice.
